Stumbled upon this image the other day and it caught me off guard for a few reasons. I took the exact same snapshot when watching this movie a few months back.

It captures everything I’ve ever thought, felt, yearned for and longed after while traveling anywhere. There is a common thread that can hardly be described until you’ve traveled anywhere with history. And then, almost immediately, you get it. You can feel it- this longing for something you know you’ll never understand. A culture, a time and a place with people you’ll never see or hear. It’s all beyond your grasp. And that alone makes you momentarily (and then, later on) sad inside.
