Well, I’m thirty days into the Project 365 and a few things have surfaced. Granted, the entire thing is meant in fun and I hadn’t really anticipated any huge revelations or “personal bests”. More than anything, the entire endeavor is proving to be a lot more difficult than I had imagined. I figure a great deal of this has to do with the fact that a) I don’t carry a digital camera, so anything “instant” comes from my phone and b) I’ve had the same routine for so long that I don’t actively seek out photos within my daily routine, but instead try and go to new/different places on a daily basis (this gets tiring and time consume, as well as not always being economical). It hasn’t been completely fun thus far, so rather than spend an entire year giving myself just another task to complete every day, I’ve decided to make some changes to the stipulations. The most pertinent one being that I’m not required to “upload” a photo every day. This rule had previously led to many a crappy cell-phone photograph, or rushed Polaroid (I cannot afford to waste pricey Polaroid exposures).
Here’s a little recap of some of the more decent shots thus far (the entire set can be found here):
Update: the locations of all photos in this project are also mapped here.
